Appetite For Destruction

I finally got to see Appetite For Destruction, the ultimate Guns N’ Roses tribute band. Let me tell you, it was worth the wait.

Caught them at
BB King Blues Club, last month. They were freakin' awesome!!! The lead singer, Chad Atkins, looks and sounds just like Axl Rose. I was amazed!

The crowd was a little too bridge and tunnel for my liking. However, they were energized and fun to be around.

Meet the band -

Chad Atkins - Axl Rose
Mike "Junior" Edington - Slash
Curtis Clark - Duff McKagan
Chris Clark - Izzy Stradlin
Mike Ropelewski -
Steven Adler

Check 'em out the next time they're in town.

Frederick Rock School Presents: A Tribute to AC/DC!

In May, a friend of mine sent me this FaceBook event invite to the Frederick Rock School Presents: A Tribute to AC/DC!, in Frederick, MD. I thought, why is he sending this to me? I don't even live in Maryland. And then I thought, is he playing in some Rock School, at his age? What a loser!

He tells me his son, Dennis is the one that will be playing for the Frederick Rock School, with his band Twisted Lizard and if I wasn't doing anything I should come to Maryland and check them out. Again, I thought to myself....Great! I gotta see some kids play rock band? They probably all suck and I'm gonna have to lie to my friend, telling him I thought his son was good.

I decided to make the trip to Maryland, to see my friend and see his son play. If he sucks...well, at least I'll get some good photos of the kids on stage. Let me tell you, to my complete and utter surprise.....THEY KICKED ASS! I was shocked by the level of talent these kids have. Especially, my friends son, D-Mac.

If you live in the Frederick area and your kids are interested in music, check these guys out! The best rock school I've ever heard! Click HERE to go to their site.

Here's a few shots I took of Tribute to AC/DC! Check out the Entertainment/Glamour gallery on my website for more photos of D-Mac and his friends Kicking ASS!

Sleeping On The Subway

Whenever I'm asked about my daily commute to work, I always tell people I don't mind it at all. Most days it takes about 40 minutes to get into the city. During that time I can watch a movie on my iPod or sleep. Most people find that last part a bit disturbing. I usually hear "Sleep? On the subway?" "I could never fall asleep on the train. I'd be too afraid"

Well, maybe you should be afraid. Not of getting mugged or killed, which I'm sure most people are afraid of. You should be afraid of all the cameras out there! You just never know, who's gonna snap your photo while you look pathetic, sleeping on the train.

So, if you do decide to fall asleep, try to make yourself look good at it.

Snowlapalooza NYC 2010 Tour

I believe there no better place than NYC when it snows. Here are some shots I took yesterday, during the Snowlapalooza NYC 2010 Tour.

Rehoboth Beach, Snow?

What better place to live than somewhere, where it's warm all year round? I understand it's not Florida, but when I bought a home in Rehoboth Beach Delaware, I was thinking mild winters. Since, my residence change, I have seen three snow storms, winds you wouldn't believe and biting cold temperatures. Am I complaining? No way! I love it!

Coming from The Big Apple I'm used to seeing snow, and lots of it. However, I'm not sure the locals of Rehoboth Beach are used to seeing snow like this...

How Do You Look At Things?

Sometimes the things we look at everyday, and find drab, boring or even the mundane...
You might find a hidden beauty, if you know how to look at it.

This is how I see the NYC subway, while I wait for the train.

Let It Snow

It looks like the greater New York City area is in for a much needed snow storm, this Wednesday. Strangely enough, we seemed to have missed the 2 - 3 feet of snow that was dumped on the whole Northeast region, Saturday. I can tell you, in Queens, I couldn't even tell if it snowed.

As much as I love the snow and look forward to this storm, I hope it doesn't ruin my weekend plans ;-) However, it will create a nice photo opportunity.

Snow Day?

I love the seasons, all of them. I love that I live in a seasonal location. Winter is, by far, one of my favorite seasons. I don't understand when people complain about the snow or the mess it makes; I think it's beautiful and can't get enough of it. If it's winter, it should be cold (very cold) and it should snow, often! How else can you truly miss the warmer seasons and appreciate them?

NYC got some light snow last night...not enough for my liking. I heard there will be more by the end of the week...I'm crossing my fingers.

Took this photo with my Canon G11 as I left for work this morning. It's already melting :-(

Inspiration

If you're like me, sometimes you find it hard to get inspired. Spending most of my time in NYC, you'd think I'd be inspired constantly. To tell you the truth, sometimes I find it hard to take my camera out of my bag.

That is the biggest problem! It's in my bag! I need to keep my camera in my hand and ready to use. Even if I'm not inspired to shoot, I never know what I may discover when I shoot random things

Like, my commute from work. That's where I shot this photo.

Sometimes my inspiration comes after I have taken the photo.

Keep your camera in your hand or in your pocket, but never too far out of reach.
